FREE INTERNET: DSTV INTERNET

The best free internet presently is dstv internet. You can make use of this free internet with dstv by the use of a cable modem and decoder.
The free internet used this way doesnt affect the use of the decoder in watching dstv with your tv.
What is more it is a simple "you can do it yourself" procedure.
Basically, The materials needed for your free internet are via dstv are:
A decoder (dstv, hitv, e.t.c.)
A cable modem
Lan cables
A router ( to connect more than one system)
and some little knowledge of configuring your network.
 STEPS:
Connect the cable modem (with the splitter) to the co-axial port of your decoder
Connect the RJ45 cable to the LAN port of your system
Turn on the whole system
Open your LAN and configure with 127.0.0.1 port: 8080
Then start your free internet.

    Well, I know some folks in abuja who have been using it for 5years now. I just never knew that it was kinda free. Well, what i cant verify is whether it will work without subscription. Sha, I will need to know the exact equipment to use, and does dis mean that the dstv shoulda been already connected and working as a cable tv connection? Or, I can just set it up any how and use?

    is the free dstv/cable modem browsing still working till date. (june 2013) i discovred that this blog has been on since 2011. Pls let me know cos i wanna try it out. Because i just placed an order for my kits too. Pls let me know b4 i waste my money

    Lol,im100% sure it wont work, your decoder is connected to the LNB and the LNB is just a reciever.think about it dont you think if it was possible explora box office wouldnt need u to have an internet provider...

    you know, you do not connect directly to the decode but you use the path used by your decoder to receive command from the satellite. this means when the decoder subscription is payed, then the down flow of the command brings downstream. for the upstream, the apps like news 24 in kenya gives the upstream. so he is not wrong but he did not explain it quite correctly. if you have any qs then samorisheho@yahoo.com is my email
